Safety Precautions when Working on Start/Stop System
Pay Attention to the Following when Working On Vehicles with
a Start/Stop System:
WARNING
Danger of personal injury when the engine starts
automatically.
- When the Start/Stop System is activated
(recognizable by a message in the instrument cluster),
the engine can start up automatically if necessary.
- Make sure the Start/Stop System is deactivated
whenever working on the vehicle (switch off ignition;
switch it on again if needed).
Safety Precautions during Road Test with Testing Equipment
Pay Attention to the Following if it is Necessary to Use
Testing Equipment During A Road Test:
WARNING
Distraction and improperly secured testing equipment
poses an accident risk.
There is a risk due to the front passenger airbag
deploying in an accident.
- Operating testing equipment while driving creates a
distraction.
- There is an increased risk of personal injury if
testing equipment is not secured.
Always secure testing equipment with a strap on the
rear seat and have a second person on the rear seat
operate it.

The safety belts on the rear seats and on the
front passenger seat are equipped with a belt retractor
lock.
If you secure a child safety seat with a safety
belt, the belt retractor lock on the safety belt
